The M107 .50 BMG (12.7×99mm) Anti-Materiel Rifle manufactured for the US Armed Forces by Barrett Firearms Manufacturing (BFM).
Ronnie Barrett produced his first .50 BMG in 1982. The US Army used the M82 designation for the lifetime of the initial service trials of this formidable weapon system under the XM107 LRSR (Long Range Sniper Rifle) programme. The M82 has gone through several modifications, including the shortened M82CQ employed by US SOCOM.
The M107 was discontinued from service in 2010, replaced by the more recent M82A1M/M107A1 variant.
Anti-Materiel rifle's used for destroying military equipment. Powerful against vehicles, extremely deadly to human targets. This gun can disable vehicles with two hits to the engine.
Similarly to the SVD's range-finding reticle, although less intuitive, the mil-dots in the M107's scope can be used to estimate your distance from a target. This allows you to zero the rifle with little difficulty. [1]
